Chocolate tasting in London

Estimated reading time: less than a minute

Enjoying some of the world’s best treats all in one afternoon

At first, planning an eight-day trip to London for Jon and I was a bit daunting.

To make it less intimidating, I picked up a copy of the DK Eyewitness Guide: London to get a feel for the city and to thumb through photos of what we might like to see. That was a great start. But what really helped was checking out our options on the Expedia things to do page.

We chose to do a number of great activities that I wrote about here, including a day trip to Stonehenge and Bath and a couple of guided tours of the city.

Though all of these were great fun, I am a little partial to anything that includes chocolate samples, and couldn’t resist registering for the Chocolate Walking Tour of London.

We joined a small group of chocoholics and walked our way through several neighborhoods, tasting chocolates from about a half-dozen shops.

Every chocolatier provided us with at least two samples (sometimes more) including truffles, award-winning caramels, bars, and bark. We ate both milk and dark chocolates, and toward the end—though I hate to admit it—we couldn’t eat another bite. Luckily bags were provided for us to carry our leftovers home!

Check out the video to see more of this tasty experience. Not such a bad way to see a city, if I do say so myself.
