Expedia.com Expedia.com Brings Travelers More of the Magic of Disney

Bellevue, WA – March 19, 2002 – Today, Expedia.com® launched the Walt Disney World® Resort store, a one-stop shop where travelers can create their own vacation packages to the Orlando area and experience the magic of Disney. Walt Disney World Resort joins Expedia®’s current Disney offerings including cruises on Disney Cruise Line and create-your-own vacation packages to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.
To celebrate the launch of the Walt Disney World Resort store, Expedia is offering travelers $100 in Disney Dollars if they book a Walt Disney World vacation package before April 1, 2002 on Expedia.com. Disney Dollars are accepted as legal tender at all locations within Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and the Disney Stores.

From Expedia’s new Walt Disney World Resort store, travelers can buy packages including Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets with reservations for a variety of Central Florida hotels, including on-site Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Flights or rental cars also can be added to create a complete vacation package. The Walt Disney World Resort store includes an interactive map of the Walt Disney World Resort showing the resort’s theme parks and on-site hotels. Travelers also can browse event listings for upcoming Walt Disney World activities and celebrations, find tips for maximizing visits to Disney theme parks, view a 360 degree slideshow, and link to more information about the Walt Disney World Theme Parks on Expedia.com.

On-site Walt Disney World packages include Ultimate Park Hopper Tickets, granting visitors unlimited admission to all Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Water Parks, Downtown Disney Pleasure Island, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park, and more. Off-site packages with accommodations at a neighboring Orlando-area hotel will include Walt Disney World Park Hopper PLUS Tickets. By including Walt Disney World Multiday Theme Park Tickets in their vacation package, travelers have the flexibility to visit multiple parks on the same day, save money over the single day tickets, and avoid ticket lines upon arrival.

“Expedia’s new Walt Disney World Resort store brings the best of Disney to Expedia.com travelers and is a perfect extension of the Expedia experience,” said Erik Blachford, president of Expedia North America. “Working directly with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts through this expanded relationship enables Expedia.com to provide travelers with the flexibility and convenience to create the customized Disney vacation that’s right for them.”
