Casino tips, casino trips

Thrills! Chills! Spills! Hundred-dollar bills!

Whether you travel to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, or any gambling destination in between, these are just some of the wonders that can characterize your next casino vacation. For folks who amble and gamble all the time, vacationing at a casino resort means a long weekend of great meals, spa treatments, and serious time cozying up to one-armed bandits or green felt. For the casino vacation rookies among us, however, the lights and sounds and odds and options can be a little overwhelming.

That’s where our latest interactive infographic can help. We designed this handy and mobile-friendly guide for casino-bound travelers to provide some tips for how to avoid looking like an idiot when they hit the gaming floor. We like to think of it as a crash-course in casino etiquette.

And if you think you might try your hand at blackjack, roulette, poker, or craps, the suggestions are sure to help. Here are some examples of our tips.

  • In blackjack, the seat to the dealer’s right, known as “Third Base,” is a power position, as you are last to act before the dealer does. If you’re sitting here, be careful not to hit when you should stay.
  • In roulette, taking notes on past performance has no bearing on the odds for that next spin.
  • In poker, remember that bluffing only works if you deploy it tactically.
  • In craps, it’s bad luck to touch a shooter’s throwing hand when that shooter is running hot.

Of course our infographic also comprises a free slot machine-style game—a contest through which any customer can win the chance to get deals on casino hotels and resorts (and other properties) across the country. The good news: Odds on our game favor players instead of the house. In short, everybody wins.

You’ll find a static version of the infographic below. To check out the interactive iteration, click on the image or on the text link above.

However you access this important information, we hope you will heed our advice before you put your chips into the betting circles. It doesn’t matter if you’re booking travel or you’re gambling; your hard-earned money is a terrible thing to waste.
