Spring Break discounts and deals

Welcoming Spring Break with lower prices, new promotion

Flowers are blooming. Days are longer. Baseball is almost back. At some point in the near future, temperatures across the country will rise. Spring is upon us, which means one thing: Spring Break.

This annual ritual usually falls sometime between the beginning of March and mid-April. And whether people travel to a giant party of scantily clad beachgoers or to Paris for a romantic weekend of sightseeing, historically Spring Break has been a time to travel.

That’s good news for Expedia customers this year. Expedia.com booking data indicates that average air ticket prices during this period to certain top destinations are down from 2014. To put that differently, our numbers indicate that some of our most popular routes are cheaper now than they were at this same time last year.

Prices down across the board

Flights to Las Vegas? Down 10 percent. Flights to Los Cabos? Down 10 percent. Flights to Puerto Vallarta: Down 7 percent. And if you’re itching to go Acapulco, check this: Flight prices are down 18 percent.

To celebrate these cheap fares, we’ve put together a few promotions around hotels.

First, in what we’re calling our Spring Break promotion, we’re offering hotel deals up to 50 percent off in Spring Break destinations across the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and elsewhere. This promo runs now through March 15 (with travel completed by April 30).

Second, we’re offering 40 percent off hotels in Orlando, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Cancun and other cities. This promo runs now through April 6 (with travel completed by May 21).

For travelers interested in visiting Europe, our third promotion of the spring is designed to get you there. Through this effort, we’re offering hotel deals of up to 40 percent on international travel, so long as you book before April 13 and travel by September.

Great package deals

Finally, new Expedia hotel and package deals for spring make a handful of destinations even MORE affordable for all kinds of Spring Breakers (not just the shirtless beer-guzzling types).

For family Spring Break, check out the all-inclusive ClubHotel Riu Bambu, in the Dominican Republic, from US$204/night; or The Cove on Ormond Beach, in Florida, from US$86/night. For adults-only Spring Break, consider the all-inclusive Grand Lido Negril Resort, in Jamaica, from US$323/night; or the all-inclusive Grand Oasis Sens, in Mexico, from US$367/night.

If you are a college type (Spring Breaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak), we’ve got deals for you, too. Like the Caribe Club Beach Resort & Spa, in the Dominican Republic, for US$238/night; or the Excalibur Hotel Casino, in Las Vegas, from US$48/night.

So get out there. Enjoy the spring. Celebrate Spring Break with abandon. And enjoy all the money you’ll save by booking with Expedia.
