What’s new with Disney in 2017

2017 promises to be a significant year for Disney.

The biggest news  (in the eyes of many fanatics) is that Pandora – The World of Avator is coming to Disney World’s  Animal Kingdom. Also in Florida, you can expect a new family raft ride at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and additional dining venues at Disney Springs. And keep in mind that construction is underway on both Star Wars and Toy Story Lands.

What about Disneyland in California? Well, we can’t wait to try out Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout (the re-themed Twilight Zone Tower of Terror).  And a Star Wars Land is coming to California as well.

Beyond the parks, Disney has a lot happening as well. The Adventures by Disney (AbD) / AmaWaterways partnership is a hit so expect more River Cruise offerings in the years ahead. Additionally, new itineraries have been announced for 2017.  We recently tried out AbD and had an excellent experience exploring the Danube region of Europe during the holidays (check out our Instagram feed) . Why did we love it? Guests get an expertly curated experience with built in “wow” moments, and you don’t have to worry about a thing. You can also learn more about this arm of Disney on Expedia.com.

Finally, the biggest news coming from Disney Cruise Line is the continuation of Star Wars Day at Sea and the inauguration of Marvel  Day at Sea on Select Disney Magic Sailings from New York, beginning in October. Also, the Disney Wonder was gorgeously reimagined. We got to sail on the spruced up Wonder’s first cruise, and we were thoroughly impressed with the enhancements.
