How to ride the London Tube
Riding the Tube in London is undeniably the fastest mode of transportation, especially when crossing town. If you are visiting for the first time or have never braved the underground, it all might feel a bit intimidating. Want more London Tube tips? Avoid the Tube during the peaks of rush hour unless you fancy feeling like a canned sardine. That’s 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All other times, unless there’s a local festival or a big sporting or musical event, you should find the Tube efficient to ride and running on time. Do note, kids under 10 years old traveling with an adult ride for free.
Also remember to plan out your journeys in advance. These days it’s easy: GPS apps on your mobile phone can tell you exactly what connections to make. But considering there is no cellular service underground, that’s all the more reason to plan ahead. Of course, there are maps on the walls of Tube stations and at ticket windows in case you get lost or are keen on do things the old-fashioned way.
