Frozen Fun at Disneyland

Frozen fever officially has hit the Disneyland Resort.

Starting this week—January 7, to be exact—a new, live “Frozen Fun” experience begins, and guests at the Disney California Adventure Park will get a chance to meet and sing along with their favorite Frozen characters, play in man-made snow, and “chill out” with a night-time family dance party.

If your family is like mine, and you’ve got little ones who can’t get enough of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and the rest of the gang from the animated movie, Frozen, this is REALLY big news.

The new experience starts with a new location for your little princesses to meet Anna and Elsa at Disney California Adventure Park: the Disney Animation building in Hollywood Land. Here you also can learn how to sketch everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf. The art activity is appropriately titled, “Do You Want to Draw a Snowman?”

Elsewhere, the folks at Disneyland have transformed the Muppet Vision 3D Theatre into the magical Crown Jewel Theatre of Arendelle, where guests can participate in a sing-a-long celebration hosted by Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff.

Viewfinder Tip: Before your visit, book an appointment for your Frozen-loving kids to dress up at Anna & Elsa’s Boutique in Downtown Disney.

Frozen fans also can check out “Olaf’s Snow Fest,” a wintry place where kids can meet Olaf, build a snowman with man-made snow, slip down a snow slide, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, and decorate Olaf cookies.

Just when you think you have had enough Frozen Fun, you can cap off the day with the “Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party,” a family-friendly rave with music, games, snacks, and all things Frozen.

Personally, I couldn’t be more thrilled about this new home for the characters of one of my family’s favorite new Disney movies. Thanks to our friends at Disney (the photos accompanying this post are from them), our family had an opportunity to visit Anaheim and sample some of these fun new experiences during the holidays. My two daughters lit up with excitement to meet their favorite characters for the first time in forever.

I dare you to visit and try to resist that excitement yourself.  Even if you have watched the movie 1,000 times at home, Frozen Fun is something you’ll remember forever. Definitely check it out.
