Boutique Paris hotels with kids

I have a confession to make. When I start a search for hotels in a new city we are planning to visit with our family, “kid-friendly hotels” is rarely in my search criteria. Instead, I search for the most stylish, hip, boutique hotel and then make sure there is enough space for our brood and that we won’t get kicked to the curb when we arrive with our kids in tow. For me, style of hotel matters. Our accommodations set the vibe for our trip, so I put in the work upfront for a great place to stay.

On our recent trip to Paris with the family, we set out to find a Paris luxury boutique hotel that was modern, has a stylish personality, and offers connecting rooms or suites. We chose to stay at the Espirt St. Germain this trip and felt right at home the moment we arrived. There is something about a boutique hotel that feels so familiar and full of personality. Are you looking for a great boutique luxury hotel in Paris? If so, here is my take on the St. Germain and three other boutique Paris luxury hotels that are high on style, service, and Parisian personality, perfect for the style-seeking family.

1. The Esprit St. Germain, 22 Rue Saint-Sulpice, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris. The Esprit St. Germain is one of many luxury boutique hotels in Paris rolling out the red carpet for families. On our recent family trip to Paris, we spent our first night at the Espirit St. Germain. This five-star, Paris luxury boutique hotel has just 28 rooms and is located in the Left Bank neighborhood of St. Germain. Staying at the Esprit St. Germain feels more like walking into a private, luxury home than a hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk took our bags up to our room and showed our family to the private dining room and lounge, lined with warm velvet couches. We sunk into our velvet chairs with a glass of wine (and juice for the kids of course) to relax from our travels and start mapping out our sightseeing itinerary.

The lounge has a complimentary full bar, as well as snacks and juice for guests. In the morning, the lounge transforms to an intimate breakfast dining room with great food. It felt natural to strike up a conversation with our fellow travelers and learn more about where they were from and how they came to Paris. The one-bedroom suite perfectly accommodated our family of four, with a pull-out couch in the living room for the kids and separate bedroom for my husband and I. The concierge was also extremely helpful in securing reservations at a tiny little street bistro, which turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Paris. The hotel is located on a side street away from the hustle and bustle of the main center of traffic. We found the Esprit St. Germain to be a beautiful Paris escape to unwind and soak in our first night in Paris.

2. Les Jardins du Marais

, 74 Rue Amelot, Marais, Paris. This luxury, boutique hotel in the stylish Marais neighborhood of Paris caught my eye because of its art-deco style, convenient location, and variety of rooms and suites available for families. A quick search for two adults and two children led me to the one-bedroom Prestige suite, with enough space for families with two kids. The hotel also has connecting rooms for families and other suites for up to three to four people. The Les Jardins du Marais is a short walk from the Saint-Sébastien-Froissart Metro station and in the heart of a village community with endless shops and restaurants.

3. Hôtel Garden Elysée, 12 Rue Saint-Didier, near the Champs de Elysée, Paris. There is nothing better than exploring Paris on foot and the Hôtel Garden Elysée is perfectly situated halfway between two iconic Paris tourist experiences, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, both a short walk from the hotel. With just 46 rooms and 2 suites, the hotel has beautiful rooms with courtyard or garden views. To ensure you have enough space for your family, you may want to consider booking two rooms, or a suite for a stay at this hotel. I love the idea of retreating to the service of this small, boutique hotel after spending the day shopping on the busy Champs de Elysée. The nearest Metro station is Boissière.

4. Artus St. Germain

, 34 Rue De Buci, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris. I love the 1950s-inspired decor of the Artus St. Germain. This luxury boutique hotel located on the Left Bank near the Mabillon Metro stop has just 26 rooms and 2 suites. While the hotel does not offer connecting rooms, the executive suite, occupying the top floor of the hotel, can accommodate smaller families, with a separate living room and a pull-out sofa. I love the bright color palette, mid-century modern furnishings, and fun design personality. Kick off your day with the hotel’s morning buffet breakfast. The Artus St. Germain also offers a concierge who can likely schedule a babysitter so you and your partner can enjoy a night out at PLAYTIME, the hotel’s hip, vintage bar serving retro cocktails. Families will enjoy getting pampered in the executive suite, with luxuries such as two LED TVs, access to the hotel’s sauna, and concierge service. Kids even get their own Velour bathrobes with slippers.
