How to get around in Seattle

Seattle is a long, narrow city, so good transportation is key. Fortunately, the region has excellent public transportation and plenty of car rental and rideshare options, as well as bike lanes. 

• Rideshare and taxi: Rides from the airport to a hotel downtown will cost about $30-35.
• Public transportation: If you’re staying in one of the more central neighborhoods, then an ORCA card may be the best option for you. This transit pass includes regional buses, light rail, streetcars, and commuter trains, and a day pass costs $8, plus a one-time fee of $5 for the card.
• Driving: Traveling with a small group? If you can fit into one vehicle, and you’re staying away from the city center, renting a car may be the best way for you to get around, and you can pick up your wheel at the airport.
